I prefer this why......one "reasonable" reason can be that, there are so many
chess program updates these days sometimes its either 'hard' or 'irritating'
ever single time you try to edit the names in winboard.ini files.
since I almost always keep the most recent versions and delete the previous
versions, so it's not confusing for me ;)

yes thats the only computer I have access as for now,
since i move alo,t desktop is just not my kind, and faster (new ones) laptops
are quite expensive...
well, its better than the hardwares (pentium (not II) 200mhz) that I see being
use in winboard forum to run tournament with 30-40 engines!! :)

I have the impression that LG is a better blitzer, Maybe I will try that too,
but for now I have already started a matchup against nim2000b

I ussually get the most recent versions or test versions mailed to me in my
hotmail account, maybe I will wait for this one to come out first.

yes definately hardware is a factor for gindalf, but I guess time control plays
a better role than the hardware itself, ie, gandalf will play better in 40/40
then in 40/5 no matter if you use a thunderbird or a pentium II 400mhz.
the hardware issue will have little effect as you give it enough time for it's
moves, at a certain 'depth' (with accumilated time) there is no better moves :)
IMO

my guess is that they are in the same level.....
Gandalf probably a 40-50elo better...
