You may know, but Fritz and the other chess engines sold by Chessbase
come with pretty decent database capabilities built in. You can search
by ELO, position, ECO code, date, winning side, etc. You can buy chess
data from Chessbase separately. The combination can cost less than buying
the Chessbase product, and you get a playing engine, too. Chessbase
does more in the database area but you may not need all it has.
