I think it is not. I'm also about to buy, but I'll go for the basic package. Besides, you'll be able to get some annotated games later from Internet. A suggestion: wait two months! They will release the BigBase 2001 in December and it will probably be much better quality than the present version - mostly because of the new kill doubles function in CB8.
