Subject: Crafty 17.13 versus Gambit-Tiger1.0

Author: Thorsten Czub

Date: 04:58:57 10/29/00

Hi – here a few games crafty 17.13 versus Gambit-Tiger1.0.

Gambit-Tiger1.0 won 10 drew 2 and lost 1

This should give 11-2 for Gambit-Tiger.

Let us remind what we had in the discussions about new paradigm:

I was under the impression that Bob does not appreciate Bill anyway... :)

That was a nice overview of possibilities. You final conclusion agrees quite
well with mine, although I came to by different reasoning.

Yep, that was exactly the position I was justifying from various angles past
several days here on CCC, in discussion with Bob and few others who believe it
is only a trivial matter of attack parameters on steroids.>>

<<I know how _all_ programs work. And yes, I say they do not "plan" by any
definition of the word that a _human_ would use. I will be happy to pick
a game (when I have time) and show you why I can say this. I can tell you
that it is quite easy to see how programs play the game... just look at the
game and you can see why there is _no_ planning of any kind.

I would hope you are not going to try to convince me that GT is now "planning"
which means to first figure out what you are going to try to do, then only make
moves that further that "plan".>>
