I tend to disagree , at least I suspect your point of view is very hard to prove
.

It does sound very logical to assume years of work on evaluation has payed off
but it is very rare to see Genius judging positions in a ridiculous way .

2 more games played on 2 PIII500 , game in 60 which lead to the current result :

Gambit Tiger 1.0 - Genius 3 1.5 - 1.5

First game :

Kind of a personal observation record on decided game regarding number of moves
:-)

I think it is 14. ...Bb7 ?! , 16. Nb5 ?! , 17. Ra1 ? . Interesting to compair
the eval after 19. cb ; Gambit Tiger thinks about +1.00 for itself , Genius
close to even ; in fact it is quite an obvious dead draw as there are no points
of entry into either position ( btw it is also a classical position for a
position where knights are quite ok ) ; 27. ... Bd2 and especially 30. ... Bxc3
are moves I really like ; also the manouvre ... Qa1 is pleasant. The position is
so dull drawn it was a little boring to play on until in the end Genius decided
to open it up ( which was still ok ) but missed a tactical trap ( outsearched )
when both had very little time left .

Second game :

Too lazy for analysis :)

Gambit got the better out of the opening but then IMHO chose a too direct
approach against the opponent king ( attacking a position with no weaknesses ) ;
In the late middlegame Gambit managed to reach an advantage . In the resulting
endgame Genius was much more exact with evaluation and understood the draw when
Gambit was still believing it had something like +2.0

Don't get me wrong ; I am convinced Gambit Tiger is stronger than Genius 3 but
when looking at the evals Genius just seems to come up with much more sensible
values usually : in fact I really think that nowadays the search of Genius is
outdated where in quiet positions and especially in endgame Genius still is very
competitive in judgement .

As the games are interesting to watch I'll continue with these 2 a little longer
until a more meaningful number of games is reached : let's wait and see !

Regards.
