There really is the possibility that something goes on behind the stages which we do not know about. Kasparov has come back from behind in so many matches and tournaments. He never was the guy to throw away a world championship like that. He has his little narcistic defects but they never affected psychological strength in chess competitions. I think he is depressed but not only about losing. Maybe somebody very close to him fell terminally ill before the match started. This to explain the obscene draws. But not to belittle Kramniks superb preparation and fighting strength.
