Compare them with recent photographs from when he was successful. Look for redness/darkening around the rims. Look for a change of colour of the tongue. Finally, look for loss of evenness in his skin pigmentation (it's no coincidence that people look more attractive when their skin pigmentation (whatever the colour) is even over the whole body). If these exist, suspect an outbreak of fungal infection - like candida albicans. Unlike most infections, it's devilishly difficult to get rid of. Also, around his age, many people suffer from GTF (glucose tolerance factor) problems. Any full body shots available - maybe he's starting to gain weight. If he's been used to being able to eat as many carbohydrate rich foods as he likes, he may not yet have realised that he'll need to change his diet to regain his vitality. Either fungal infection or loss of GTF would rob him of his energy and ability to concentrate. -g
