But the last time I ran this experiment, this wasn't true (6 months ago). Crafty and Scrappy were almost identical. I think there was a thread here that discussed this. However, in the current case, Crafty is mainly playing computers, while 6 months ago crafty was playing a mix of humans and computers. That probably accounts for the differences. Some computers that do fairly well against me still have trouble with humans and can't get their rating up high enough to not drag crafty down significantly. And then there are ICC computers that use weak and strong programs as they choose, which causes some rating pertubations...
