There are some things I am doing that gives Crafty a "risky" edge to its play. Which is the right thing to do vs humans, else you end up with a huge number of draws. But against computers this can back- fire easily, and it often does. My main complaint with computers on CCC is variability. Same handle. But they use hardware from 300mhz to 1100mhz. They use commercial programs. They use some of the really weak freeware programs. Which totally screws up the rating system. Ie you can't play like a 3000 player one day, and a 2200 player the next, and keep any reasonable sort of rating to represent your actual skill level at any instant in time.
