Look at my last line, I am wondering as well why it wasn't the commercial
version. I did not finish the beta testing period with Steen and Dan Wulff.

We had a sort of falling out. There was a point where two separate GM's on ICC
said things to me in personal tells about the play of Gandalf 4.32e after games
played, and for reasons I can not understand denied stating them later. Whether
they felt I was not going to report their words or not, they later said they
never stated what I had wrote to Steen in an email. Such is life, is no the
first time something like that has happened. I am sure it has happened to even
some of you. Steen chose to believe the GM over one of his own testers, and
there was nothing I could do. If I had bad feelings about Steen or Gandalf, I
would not post terrific results, instead I would slam his product. This isn't
the case here. I am just stating that for some reason, the E version seems to be
stronger, but that could be due to a better book.

I am only trying to be as honest as possible here.

Frank Quinsky started to test Gandalf I believe at the E version, and was the
first time he raved about it. In his tournament, Gandalf is doing well, yet in
others Fritz is still beating Gandalf. The reason? No idea..

Dan Wulff the book writer for Gandalf won a Quarterly FICS tournament, with the
E version, then with the F version, placed 6th in the next Quarterly tournament.

I believe that fact was due to his version F's opening book, as he was behind in
quite a few games right of the bat. He blamed it on hardware, yet was using the
same hardware, and continues to use the same hardware today, as the first
tournament he won.
