Well actually you are going to be disappointed.

You can download POSE (Palm Operating System Emulator) for free, but you will
not be able to use it until you have a real Palm. Because POSE needs a ROM image
in order to work, which can be downloaded only from a real device.

It has to be this way because the Palm ROM includes a serial number. Many
shareware programs use this unique serial number to generate the registration
code, so a registered program will run only on ONE device: yours.

ChessGenius for Palm needs to be "unlocked" by a registration code (or else you
don't have access to the real playing strength of the engine), so you need to
purchase the registration code for an actual Palm device, then you can download
the ROM from this device and finally you'll be able to run it under the Palm
Emulator.

BTW, even on a fast PC, POSE is slower than a real Palm.
