The point I would make is that the number of games that Daniel is talking
about is much too small to be able to make useful conclusions about
the differences between the two versions he is testing.

Over the Summer, I was able to grab two machines at work and test two
different approaches to doing mtd(f) in my program by playing matches
between two versions. Each version had an identical, dedicated machine.
Also, I swapped machines over after every twenty games. Even with these
near-ideal testing conditions, I was testing in sets of 560 (blitz) games.

Having said all that, if Daniel wants to have fun doing this, I don't see
why he shouldn't. I'm not sure if I'd call the results a "Tragedy",
however. :-)
