I do know that windows ask to repair it self when in the same time you tried to install the os don't know how to get a repair option in a diferent way I do know there is a way to repair your regestry though but I also don't like this But like wise is this not the problem in your system it looks to me that your fat is damaged or something with doublespace.bin My gues is maybe right use the fat32 opton under windows 98 to refind your hard drives again
