This wasn't a case of my getting "robbed". I don't do a lot of opening
preparation, but I do do _some_. But in this case, as I mentioned elsewhere,
we had a medical emergency (not in my immediate family) that caused me to
leave before round 3 was over. Since I didn't know who I would play, nor which
color I would be playing in round 4, I had to real way to prepare anything.

When I play something cooked up by Alex, I know that I can't play traditional
stuff as he is too well-prepared for that. However, I didn't know that I would
be playing him in round 4, and as a result, I used the normal book, which just
happened to cough up the center counter.

Nimzo is not weak, it could well have beaten me whether I played a better
opening or not. That is impossible to speculate about. It is possible that
I would have lost quicker had I played something I wanted to play. It is
possible that I would have won with a better opening. And of course, it is
also possible the game would have ended in a draw.

It was just one tournament/game. I don't lose sleep over that. I wasn't
happy with the majority of the book positions I reached, but I was happy with
the play of Crafty after the program had to think on its own. Except maybe
for the nimzo game. I think it misplayed that even after leaving the book.
