compared to what gary? sure you have decent hardware to run chess programs. but if your pc played my fidelity 6113, at 16 mhz, my king would experience a short battle before you buried him. if your 550, searching about 520 kns with fritz6, played one of the many 1 gig plus machines, with 384 megs of the mushkin 150 ram, well it might be a slower death, but your king would fall. these computers are like a good looking female, the best have got a total package.
