What and How do you make an >ultimate determination??? You can't... you can choose the engine which fits most of your wishes but you can't be sure about the strongest engine... All those ranking lists, tournaments etc. show us that the field of the top - engines is very narrow... And after all... Every year we will see another engine on the top so when you buy strongest today, tomorrow it is some points behind them all... I collect them a little bit and think I will only buy one packet a year... this year maybe the Rebel-package because I have only Rebel Decade and no full version of Eds great programs... After all, I love them all, Fritz and Nimzo with its tactic-style, cool Shredder, old but not to old to bite Genius, clever Gandalf, idealistic CSTal, blinking multimedia Chessmaster... And of course all the free available engines which spend us so many hours of pleasure and enjoyment... I have not mentioned Junior, Hiarcs, Rebel and Tiger above, but you can be sure, some day I will buy them too, just to sleep better... :) Greets, Thomas P.S.: Last time counting, all freeware counted, I have maybe around 200 different chess programs, starting counting all the versions... who knows how much... :) Am I crazy ??? :)
