In my comparison list: m1999.11.zip 4,264,732 original archive file testing.cab 1,400,426 testing.rar 1,535,789 Testing.ace 1,700,271 test2.tar.bz2 2,565,178 test1.tar.gz 3,042,154 testing.lzh 4,025,354 test.bh 4,063,632 testing.jar 4,272,214 test.tar 11,120,640 test2.tar 11,120,640 I did reinstall WinIMP and it did the file at 1,634,917 so it gets a third. i do seem to recall it did well on TXT files in the Algorithm 2 which is optimized for text. If u do self extracting u get: 1,655,923 ... slightly more cause of the overhead but good nevertheless. Actually in retrospect for some reason I ALWAYS had it on Algorithm 2 which is great for TXT but horrible for other types of media and I always used it that way improperly so I thank Mike for making reinvestigate it but I still doubt it;ll beat winRar 2.71 OR WinAce 2.0 but l fool around with it and let everyone know. Hmm,always thought algorithm 2 was the best for ALL files, o well, learn soemthing new every day, thanks Mike ;.)
