Hmm,always thought algorithm 2 was >the best for ALL files, o well, learn soemthing new every day, thanks Mike ;.) Try downloading the latest one from their site, it is now all freeware, if you had not already. I zipped a 2 meg file when I tested in using Algorithm 1 which was a program file. And I got at least 450kb better compression, and I used winace, win rar and winzip and win imp. All of which are the latest versions and all using the best compression (which is what I always want when compressing files). But this does vary of file content, but I compressed the same file using all those programs and it was still about 450kb better, which blew me away, and which made me post this reply to your posts. Otherwise I would of kept my mouth shut :) That said I would use it only for creating self extracting files and not imp compression files, simply because of lack of other program support for imp format. But if we are talking about archive files to be compressed for downloading, then maybe an imp self extracting file could be looked at.
