>is that much stronger then it must be over 200 elo stronger or more to factor >out the chance factor .to me the chance factor is that the strongest program on >any given day may not win .but if one program is strong enough then luck is no the answer is very simple. he is not stronger playing many games. but he has the more successful style to win a short tournament. he is able to draw lost positions and scores 100% against weaker opponents. that´s the key. others like fritz or tiger are not coming into lost positions, but give away half points against "weak" opponents. that´s the only difference. best example: tiger as normal version he is on the long run slightly better than gambit tiger , but was hardly able to win a tournament. in the gambit version, with a more deadly style, he has immediately won two tournaments out of two, even he is not equal strong to the normal version. understand? marcus
