Well - unfortunately, because of being highly involved with my company,
I haven't got the free time I used to have, figuring out the last dot of
my favoured program' abilities.

The Spassky style gives the 2.54a de Koning engine -maybe exeptionally-
I don't know, a benefit because of weighting in majority center control,
agility very
high and piece balance a little lower, more weight towards offending
which leads
in total to a quite attractive gameplay " full of life " - that seems to
suit escpecially this engine very well.

I know all these ( Austrian ) stonewall tricks - the " Karate chess "
and the slow, Petrosjan like " zusammenschieben " -last only works
within very special
opening lines...as soon as you get into Ruy Lopez, Breyer or Exchange
variation,
it's finished with " zusammenschieben ".
Have a try on this within K.-indian, 4 pawn attack or the Awerbach
System - try
it within the Sicilian Dragon + you'll understand, what I mean.

Interesting would be, if G 5 could be pushed together as well - I doubt
this,
because of the origin style of this program ( watch out for a note of
mine concerning this, particularly, elsewhere ). Anyway - this is the
only style of
playing against a program xy under normal circumstances.
There's no way for Mr. Steinwender to survive with his xxx style in
normal chess
because I presume, that with an - estimated (!) rating of 1.900 ELO you
might
learn some lines to repeat perfectly - but I dare to doubt if you
understand fully, what you are doing there actually.
So, this is completely irregular to me - same as the funny monkey in
this mag - or even the unnamable Mr. Carstens....

in the end, one can discuss, debate, in epical lenght right up to
academic discussion....symetrie, non- symetrie, null - or double null
move.......
25 times faster with 100 MB RAM - if you fill it with nonsense - it will
only be a huge mass of nonsense....
for my opinion the majority of the top progs at present have come near
to the height of their possibilities.
The only way to get further improvenments is the implementation of
knowledge,
knowledge + more knowledge.
This - and only this MIGHT lead once towards a situation, where a prog
realizes
because of a so reached position how to carry on based to the situation
- and this could be called : strategy.

Of course - I'm not involved in the scene anymore - my knowledge of this
is way
overdone - so I couldn't dare to say how to do - but as a long time
chess player I can say what's needed......

IF you had the time + interest - I'd really would love to read a comment
of the
PILZ setup against the SPASSKI - setup - this would be roarin' thunder
on the board....
and praise yourself lucky - you can actually " feel " the moves, played
then -
because you just use your XX PC board...:-)

keep on rockin'
