Play in SSDF consists of long autoplayed matches, which are different from
tournament play. I believe top programs are very close in strenght to each
other.

Yes, SSDF is a big collective private tester. Nothing wrong with that, of
course, I think they do a good job and encourage them and all the other private
testers to continue their work (and share their results) as long as they derive
fun from it.
