I've noticed that the IDEA seems to have been opposed to some degree or other on this forum whenever it's come up, but I think it's not because it's distasteful or horrifying to the adherents of the "standard approach" or call it what you will, but because, to date, no other approach shows any sign of working as well. I also don't think that conventional programmers are so bone-headed about looking for quiescence that they are unable to comprehend anything different. I think you are underestimating the abilities of others and rather overestimating yours. I've seen some examples of what was claimed to be a paradigm shift, in games between GS and Crafty, but as you know, a few hand-picked games here and there prove nothing. How many times did Crafty stomp GS? What about leading commercial programs? Better to go away, work hard until your program really does consistently beat the best, and then you might find that your ideas will gradually (or quickly) gain acceptance. Until that day comes I regret you will be wasting your time here. I've always liked the idea of throwing out speed in favour of knowledge, and I'm surely not alone in believing that the real advances will come when we find a way to include real understanding in a program's evaluation, as opposed to simple rules of thumb.
