The _slowest_ part of my link out of UAB is 100 mbits/second. And that is the connection from my office to the HP switch we use. From there to the computer center we run gigabit, and from UAB to the outside world we are running OC12. It isn't a bandwidth problem on this end. :) I can ftp from many linux ftp sites and sustain 50-70 megabits per second which makes downloads quite fast.
