Subject: test positions for chess programs

I do not post diagrams because I read that Jari has problem to read posts with
diagrams

3r3k/1Q4p1/2n2b1p/PN1q1p2/P2P4/2B1R2P/5P2/6K1 b - - 0 1

My analysis suggest that black is better because white has no good alternatives
to the moves of white in the game and maybe the losing mistake of white was the
last move before this position Qc7xb7.

The game continued 37...f4 38.Re1 Bh4 39.Rf1 Qg5+ 40.Kh1 Qf5 41.Kh2 Bg3+ 42.Kg2
Rf8

programs have problems even here to see Rf8 with advantage for black and it is
another test position

3r3k/1Q4p1/2n4p/PN3q2/P2P1p2/2B3bP/5PK1/5R2 b - - 0 1

Here is some results of chess programs on my pIII450.
Fritz5,32(85 seconds)
Gambittiger(3:08.2)
Fritz5(16 bit) (9:55)
Rebeltiger (11:54.2)
Crafty17.11(28:49)

The games of Nemet against Fritz6 give more test positions for chess programs.
Nemet took advantage of the main weakness of Fritz6a that is tactics and posted
the games here.

Here are some tactical mistakes of Fritz6a from the games(I may be wrong because
I am also weak in tactics and I did not analyze the games enough).

r1nqk2r/2p1b1p1/3p3n/1N1Ppp2/P3P1p1/5N2/1PB2PP1/R1BQ1RK1 w kq - 0 1

Fritz6a blundered and played 16.Ng5 when 16.Nh2 is probably winning.

Fritz5.32 needs only 94 seconds on p200 to find 16.Nh2 and could find 16.Nh2 in
game in 30 on p200 but it seems that Fritz6a is worse in this position.

16.Ng5 is losing the game after 16...Bxg5 17.Bxg5 Qxg5 18.Nxc7+ Kf7 19.Nxa8
f4(Even here programs have problems to see that white is losing and may need a
very long time only to see a draw score,I was too lazy to prove that white is
losing but I could see by analysis that Junior's idea after more than an hour
Ra3 is not a draw) 20.f3 Qh4 21.Re1 gxf3 22.Qxf3 Ng4 23.g3 Qh2+ 24.Kf1 Qxc2
25.Re2 Nh2+ 26.Rxh2 Rxh2 27.gxf4 Kg8

Fritz6a blundered again in the second game by Qxa1 instead of Bb4+ or exf4.
Here is the relevant position:
rnb2rk1/pp3pp1/2pb4/3ppPP1/4PNQ1/3P2P1/PqP3B1/RN2K2R b KQ - 0 1

Here are some more interesting positions that I believe that Fritz blundered but
I did not analyze them:

r1bqk2r/pp1pppbp/6pn/1Np1P3/4NP2/8/PPPP2PP/R1BQ1RK1 b kq - 0 1
Fritz6a played a6 that is probably losing against Nbd6+.

r2qk2r/pp4pn/2nb4/4pp1p/6b1/2NP1N1P/PPP1BPP1/R1BQR1K1 w kq - 0 1
Fritz6a played hxg4 that is probably a losing move.

rnbq1rk1/p3bpp1/5n1p/2p1p1B1/2PpPP1P/P6N/1P1N2P1/2RQKB1R b K f3 0 1
This position is from tournament time control game(120/40) and Fritz6a played
12...hxg5 that is probably a losing move
