A very nice and factual statement, Frank, but it's a waste of time IMO. Anyone who looks at the SSDF list to establish if they've bought the right program have a serious problem. The only important thing is to enjoy the software you own, whether it be strong, weak, commercial or free. If we have to talk about the program itself. Then it's obvious that Gandalf has made a lot of progress from the previous version and has caught up with the old generation within reason. The next generation doesn't look menacing in any way as it's mostly SMP versions. I doubt that Nimzo will improve significantly and that a new Hiarcs version will see the light of day anytime soon. The major "competitors" will be the Tiger series and Shredder, which are also knowledgeble programs. A good development IMHO. All in all, I'm quite optimistic about the future for Danish design :o). I still enjoy playing games with Gandalf, but the same applies to Inmichess. Go figure. Mogens.
