I think you should wait until more than 1Gz is whortly to upgrade.
So waiting the next step in order to get better prices on 1 Ghz is de idea.
Every new wave of processors brings better prices.

As for me I think I can wait until 2.5 Ghz are released because my K6III450
is good enough for playing and analyzing as well.(see my upgrading factor is 6x)
