Go up one level in this thread

Just wishing good luck to the program >When ChessTiger came out, there was a lot of noise..but Fritz just became better. When Tiger came out, the impression I got from this forum was that the other programs do not stand a chance against it. Okay...Tiger went on to win SSDF rating while Fritz stayed close behind. Did n't Fritz get back to the top? Not that it matters to me , a consumer, so much, as long as the gap is not so huge. >>My Fritz 6a, Hiarcs 7.32, Chessbase7 and a few training CDs combine very well >>to teach and entertain me. When I buy another engine can this fit into chessbase database program? When I buy another database program, can this let fritz and Hiarcs to analyse a game? These are important criteria for me to select which program I am going to buy. >>Now Gambit Tiger has come out..I am sure Chessbase will bring out something >>better It is quite normal for any programmer to try and bring out a new version to beat the competition. I know that some may give up the race and will be forced out of market. I am sure that Chessbase with Fritz, Hiarcs, Junior, Nimzo etc and Rebel with Tiger will stay in the race. I must also thank Shredder and a few others who keep these programs honest! The moral of this story is that competition is good and the consumers get benefitted. >> and the new program will fit in my Cd collection with ease! I, as a consumer, give due priority to compatability! This is very important to keep my past investment in terms of money [training Cds] and time[ the graphic, audio, vedio etc. analysis] worthwhile. I do not call anyone a moron or call any program stupid. But I acknoledge the fact that the level of understanding varies from 1.person to person 2.program to program 3.person to program. Hope this will make things clear. Please do not start another long thread after this! Thanks. raj
