Do you mean that the total maximum positional score advantage for one side is 1.5 (that is without material balance)? I think it is not important to decide what is the overall maximum. 1.5 is too little I think because a passed pawn on 7th rank should be more valuable in itself. I also think that there is _no_ such maximum score which all authors use or which has been confirmed by many GMs. By altering these weightings we can get these so called "new paradigm" programs - altering simple parameters can make a big difference in playing strenght/style.
