The author of Gandalf has made some kind of hack to avoid that AFAIK, but I'm not sure how it's done or how well it works. The performance of Gandalf under Chessbase as an example isn't too bad IMHO. I noticed that you mentioned the Rebel Tiger WinBoard support. Is it possible to play two different WinBoard engines (or WinBoard engine against Tiger)? According to information related in this forum, then it isn't possible, but I'm not sure. Is there a way? Mogens.
