I don't think so. Sargon on 6502 was strong, but it was basically a brute force
program.
Ed's programs were selective, and much stronger.
Here is the best 6502 computer ever tested by the SSDF:
106 Mephisto MM 4 Turbo Kit 6502 16 MHz 2093 46 -42 292 73% 1918
I'm almost sure Ed is the programmer of the Mephisto Polgar:
113 Mephisto Polgar 6502 10 MHz 2042 43 -41 283 59% 1979
I don't know if he is also the author of the MM4.
The best program on 6502 by the Spracklens is:
160 Fidelity Par Excellence 6502 5 MHz 1835 22 -22 1022 48% 1846
The ratings are from the January 2000 SSDF list. They should be comparable to
human elos.
If anything here is wrong, I'm sure somebody will correct me.
