The main question is if gandalf used the original book.

My experiments from engine-engine games under Hiarcs7.32 against Fritz6light is
that Gandalf is not so weak(I had only one problem that gandalf did not use
tablebases under hiarcs7.32 when fritz6light used them).

It is clearly worse than Fritz6light in game in 5 but probably only slightly
worse than Fritz6light in game in 15 and it suggest that it can win at longer
time control.

I played 80 blitz engine-engine games from the following 40 openings when every
program play both sides:
1.a3 a6,1.a3 a5...1.a3 Nh6(25:8 7 draws for fritz6light that means 28.5-11.5)
1.a4 a6,1.a4 a5,...1.a4 Nh6(24:9 7 draws)

The total result was a clear win for Fritz6light(56-24)

I played 40 blitz games of 15 minutes/game only with 1.a3 xx and here the result
was better for gandalf(17:15 for fritz6light and 8 draws)

You can see that gandalf lost only 21-19 in the first 40 games in 15 minutes per
game when it lost 28.5-11.5 from the same positions at 5 minutes per game.

I can post my games if people are interested in it.
