You're making a big mistake here.  The search extension code in Phalanx is the
smartest on the planet.  Most of the stuff that puzzles people is the POSIX
interface stuff, since they are used to WIN32.  Just look up some man pages and
it is really not so difficult.

Maybe reading "Scalable Search in Computer Chess" is right for you now.
