If you guys hadn't hyped it up, I probably never would have bought the program. Thanks for posting about it. I'd have never taken the time to read the reviews on Ed's site to even find out about the program. Let's face it: Ed's site is crap and not easy to get around in. I did go there and read the reviews after he posted the url and found most of the reviews to be very poorly written and they didn't give Gambit Tiger it's due. (I haven't been able to set up Rebel yet because I don't have a serial, so I don't know how that's going to be yet--ICD says they're mailing out the booklets today.) Regarding Chess Partner--I wonder if I'm the only person who hates the sounds that came with it. I hope ChessBase doesn't mind, but I've taken a lot of the sounds from Fritz and copied them to the Chess Partner directory so now I'm hearing Fritz sounds. I also would like it if I could do an engine-engine match in Chess Partner. Maybe next go around. I'm not much into engine-engine matches, so it won't be any big deal for me to do it manually. I've got two computers, but I'm not gonig to all the trouble of rigging them to play each other. And I may be the only one here, but I don't care what program is rated 100 points above the other. I'll read your posts about it, some of them anyway, but I'm more interested in a program that will play an interesting game against me, and Gambit Tiger definitely fills the bill better than anything else out there. On some of it's moves, here I am wondering if it's got good sense. And then last night it did it's first sacrifice in a 4 move mate combination that was as pretty as any combo like that I've seen between a master and a rank amateur like myself. And I ain't interested in a copy of ChessMaster 8000 or Shredder anymore. Who wants to play against some program that plays boring games when you can play against Gambit Tiger? Getting Rebel 11 means I'll have more money in my pocket at the end of the year. rc
