Actually, this is a bug in Chessmaster but the draw request is coming from Gandalf, not The King, as Chessmaster will NEVER request a draw (or resign, for that matter). The bug, however, passes on the draw request assuming that the opponent of the XBoard engine is a HUMAN (hence, the dialog that you are seeing), rather than the actual opponent engine. As mentioned in other posts, this bug will be fixed in the patch. jm
