I owned two computers an AMD K6-2 500 MHz and an AMD Athlon 800 MHz and honestly I don't noticed any difference between them. Just to give you an idea two months ago I matched them both 50 games in G/60 and the Athlon 800 Mhz won by just a small margin of 28 to 22 using Fritz 6a. Now if you believe that this is worth spending $900.00 it is your call. But I strongly recommend you to keep your AMD K6-2 450 MHz and instead increase your memory to 256 MB and upgrade your hardrive to a least 20 Gigabytes. You will spend half the amount of money required to purchase an AMD Athlon 750 Mhz and if later on you decide to upgrade simply spend another $240.00 and get a motherboard and a cpu of 900 MHz. What I do strongly sugest you to do is to get the best P.C. Chess Program available such as Chess Tiger 13 Fritz 7 or Nimzo 8. Pichard.
