When chessbase 8 is used to recreate general theme keys that were created under chessbase 7 it does so incorrectly. Although if annotations or medals were used as a key criteria this works, it does not use any information such as player name or year range or eco code. If you edit the theme key(via selecting the the theme key and using F2) the cause of the problem appears to be due to the fact that the game data box is not checked even though data such as ECO code or player name is set. If however you check the game data box then there is still another problem. The option both is selected for the players ratings even though no rating range was selected when the key was setup under chessbase 7. In fact under chessbase 7 it all works perfectly..under chessbase 8 its just plained screwed up. BTW this happens using the original CB8 version from the english CD and using the latest Novemeber 22nd version via online download. comments ?? Regards, Bill
