I've seen the same behaviour in Shredder where you can set selectivity (==MAXPLY) up to 99 and it also takes much more time for each ply the higher you set this value. My guess is that either some extensions "go wild" at such a high depth or the internal data structures become "defragmented" (in lack of a better term) and things run outside the CPU cache or whatever. --- Shep
