>>Any higher primate with an IQ above room temperature ough to be able to >>discriminate better (oops, "discriminate" you can't do that any more,... > >This insult in itself is a case for moderation i think. >I am sorry, but i really thought you could do better. > Yes, I discriminate all the time in everything I do. As does everyone else. That's what brains do, you know. When I buy apples I try to pick the freshest subset from the bin. It may offend the few rejected potentially rotten ones, but, for my money I get to pick. When I buy a chess program, I look at the features and reviews, trying to discriminate which among the choices will fit my playing taste the best. The same goes for picking books, cars, jobs, friends, spouse, my kids schools, my house, my neighborhood,... Just as everyone else does. If some choice can make a difference down the line (and they always do), I wish to know in advance what differences those might be, based on all I know at any given moment, then I make the choice that, as far as I can tell, will lead to the outcome I will like the best. How exactly do you do it, anyway? You pick the one you will like the least? Or, since any choice you make will result in rejecting all the alternatives, and since "rejecting" the "alternative" (be it lifestyles or something else) is "intolerant," it "discriminates" the "good" from the "bad," you skip the discrimination phase and just flip a coin? I doubt it.
