Is the same method used for pawn trans tables? yep. but watch out for the classic "trap": If you only include the positions of pawns in the hash key, you can only hash that part of the pawn score that depends *only* on pawns. You will probably forget, as I have, and include a piece somewhere in your analysis, and get inconsistent results. :)
