My reasoning behind the defense of 'alternative lifestyles', as you label
them, is much much simpler than that. It is neither the product of PC
brainwashing, nor is it liberalness for the sake of liberalness. It is based on
the belief that everyone is entitled to the pursuit of happiness. Yes, it is an
obvious reference to the American constitution, but that right is not an
American one, but a universal one. IMO. You complain that everyone is being
taught the same garbage, but still wish to impose a single lifestyle as if it
suited all, and were the only valid one. I couldn't disagree more. You link
child abuse to these less conventional lifstyles as if the very
'alternativeness' were the source of the problems. I see nothing inherent in
these other approaches to a family life, that should lead to greater violence.
That sort of logic makes no sense whatsoever to me. "Yes, he beats his kid
everyday, but you have to understand, he is the step-parent." Right.
I tend to think that TLC (Tender Loving Care) is not the exclusive property
of families following the classic 'a mommy, a daddy, two point two kids, and a
dog' scenario.
