using windows 98 se, sometimes i get this warning, "this program has performed
an illegal operation and will be shut down". then when you click ok, it will
shut down the chess program. under "details", it reads "fritz6 caused an
invalid page fault in module mfc42.dll at 0167:5f4012al. i found this dll file
in two locations, c:\windows\system and c:\programfiles\chessbase\fritz6. do you
have any ideas, or where i can find an answer to resolve this issue. i dont want
to just fix this problem, i want to learn why it is doing this. is it ok to have
a dll file with the same file number in two locations? i have reformated several
times, ran file checker(windows 98 utility), ran scandisk, defrag, and tried
regclean from the microsoft site, none of these fixed the problem.
thanks xracer
