There we go! Pressing the enter key sometimes means get a new line, sometimes means press the "Submit Follow Up" button... I should also have said that code example is from my BitBoard class, that contains the two 32-bit halves of the bitmap. The functions finds the first bit in the board, and also removes it. Doesn't work for empty bitmaps! The functions are very fast for Pentium II/III/Celeron. On an old Pentium/Pentium MMX you would do better with at table lookup, like bit = FirstBitOf[Byte] For AMD K6 processors, it seems to be a break even. Bo Persson bop@malmo.mail.telia.com
