I have the same problem without downloading the book.bin file. I guessed that my new machine (PIII 733MHZ, 120MB RAM, Win98SE) was the reason (it runs fine in PII 225MHZ, 64MBRAM, Win98SE) so I tried to compile Crafty myself by VC6.0 (I posted a question about how to compile it last week). It works fine now. Thank you very much for your work and your program.
