I had wanted a different VP but that will be decided if Cheney has more unstable angina. The "big lead" of 350,000 votes in the popular vote is all due to the 1,200,000 lead that Gore got in the California election. That means, if you know how to add and subtract, that in actuality Mr. Gore did not get any majority in the other 50 states. In addition, the number of counties US-wide that voted for Bush outnumbered Gore over 4 to 1. Just look at a voter map of the election at a site like http://www.voter.com That is why we have an electoral college. If the population of California was 150,000,000 and the rest of the country were 100,000,000 would the will of the "people" be accomplished if the other 50 states were out-voted by one mega-state? Do we care what 1.5 billion Chinese want us to do? The will of the people is more than raw numbers.
