If you definitely think you lost your data go to http://www.grc.com and look for SpinRite. It seems by experiences from users that it is a small yet magic (and bit expensive) recovery tool for your HD. Another idea is to put back an old registry copy, to see if it's a corrupt registry doing the trick. Start in DOS (whack F8 before starting Windows) and use scanreg /fix first, if that doesn't help start again and use scanreg /restore and restore an earlier registry. Maybe that helps. DON'T use it from a DOS box under windows. Start Windows OS without the GUI. And buy a CD RW and backup an archived one. A big DB may cost a lot of time. But you only realize how usefull that time should have been when it's to late. Been there, done that. Blah. :( Good luck Jeroen ;-}
