Subject: CM8000 vs Chess Tiger (2 games pgn)

Author: James T. Walker

Date: 11:39:00 11/29/00

I have only played 2 games. First was Chess Tiger 13.0 vs CM8K at 60'+10". The
second game was played at 40/60 minutes. I switched because CM8K did not seem
to use the Fischer time controls very well. In the 40/60 game ChessMaster 8000
had about 1 hour/30 minutes left at the end of the game so it did not use it's
time very well in this game either even though it won. I wondere how good
ChessMaster would be if it used it's time allowed. The ChessMaster win was a
very interesting "Tactical" game where CM8K traded a minor piece for 3 pawns.
In the early middle game both programs thought it was winning. ChessMaster
proved to be correct. Hardware was 2 Athlon 900 Thunderbirds with 256 Meg Ram
so the 40/1hour game should be about equal to a 40/2hours on a K6-450.
