However, a few clarifications are in order: MPlayer support still exists for CM6000 and CM7000 users. MPlayer was removed from CM8000 because most users of 6000 and 7000 were quite unimpressed or downright annoyed by the horrendous lag at MPlayer (those who were able to connect at all, of course). Before CM6000, Chessmaster Live was run "in-house" by Mindscape and was extremely popular (as many as 600 users on at a time). But it had to be shut down for legal reasons, hence the move to MPlayer. The development team hopes to have Chessmaster Live "in-house" again for CM9000 (or whatever it is going to be called). But, yes, CM8000 only supports TCP/IP, LAN and modem play. For those of you who attempt TCP/IP connections, AFTER you connect (either by hosting a game or successfully connecting to someone else's game) your IP address is displayed in the bottom right of the main window, in the status bar. jm
