This is a good question. I think that the moderators have to allow this kind of
thing unless they are going to claim to speak with the voice of god on every
issue. They can't know what is going on regarding every issue.

And even then, I think that it should be permitted to be simultaneously angry
and wrong.

If two people get into a large argument, and it's determined a day or two later
that that one of them was right and the other was wrong, it's not sensible that
the wrong one should be charged with having made a series of personal attacks,
just because he was factually wrong.

I don't like reading these court case updates in here, because there is no way I
can figure out who is right and who is wrong, and really I don't care that much
anyway. I get the idea that this is an argument that should be conducted
between the arguing parties. It's unfortunate that they need to conduct their
argument with lawyers, and it's more unfortunate that this argument from time to
time spill into here.

I think the only way to keep it out of here would be to ban the entire topic,
but that seems a bit heavy-handed.

As a rule, I don't think that CCC should be a place where you have to paint on a
smile. The place was built as a shelter from stalkers, not as an environment
where the atmosphere is laced with nitrous oxide and Prozac.
