Hello Sarah,
I guess John is not interested in this problem.  It probably means that Johan is
not interested either.  As far as playing CM8K automatically, I don't know of a
way.  About 2 years ago I played CM6K vs Fritz/Junior/Rebel in 12 game matches.
CM6K did OK.  Right after that the SSDF started running CM6K for rating
purposes.  If they don't do it for CM8K, I don't blame them.  It is an
interesting program but I don't have the time to run a lot of games manually
myself.  I'm going to switch to G/2hours tomorrow for a couple of games to see
if it manages it's time better.  Daniel sad it would so I have to try it.
