I did not say any such thing.  I don't call people "freaks," for one thing.
Looking back in my mail, when you complained about the default colors, I said
"You can set the colors in WinBoard to whatever you want. Most people seem to
think the default is OK, but if you hate it, you can change it to something
you like. Complaining about the default is pointless."  (My mail is full text
indexed, so it took me about 10 seconds to find this.)  Complaining about the
default colors in xboard makes a little more sense since there is no dialog to
set them and the command line options are indeed obscure.  However, the options
are documented in the man page, so you don't have to be a "freak" to learn about
them.
